Radcliffe Lightweight Crew Completes Day One of Lightweight Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 4 Harvard-Radcliffe lightweight crew varsity eight finished second as the Black and White wrapped day one of the Lightweight Invitational on the Charles River. The second varsity walked away from MIT in the preliminaries.

Radcliffe varsity eight posted a time of 6:46.0 with a tailwind but choppy conditions Saturday morning. The Cardinal posted a time of 6:37.8 to record an open-water win. MIT was open water behind Radcliffe with a time of 6:58.8.

The 2V cruised to a 30-plus second win over the Engineers, stopping the clock in 7:14.7. The third
varsity could not keep pace with BU, falling by an eight-second margin.

The novice four race was canceled due to choppy conditions.

The Black and White V8 and 2V will race in the same heats early tomorrow for a chance at the grand final later in the morning. Catch all the action starting at 7:15 a.m. on the Ivy League Digital Network.
