With its second consecutive win, Babson is now 14-6, while Bates falls to 4-12 on the year.
The Beavers took control of the match with a sweep in doubles. Sophomores Yagmur Akgul (Istanbul, Turkey) and Jenny Quenard (St.-Legier, Switzerland) won 8-6 at number one, while first-years Eleni Gianelos (West Chester, Pa.) and Chloe Brandt (Denver, Colo.) posted an 8-4 victory at number two. Paolino then became the eighth player since 1994 to reach 100 wins as she and Kylie Kam (Honolulu, Hawaii) recorded an 8-2 result at number three.
Akgul was a 6-3, 7-5 winner at number one, while sophomore Claire Foster (Orange, Conn.) breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number six. Quenard dropped the first set at number three before rallying for a 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 triumph, and Paolino pulled away in a third-set superbreaker for a 7-5, 6-7 (7-9), 1-0 (10-1) win at number four.
Babson will return to action next Friday when it hosts nationally-ranked Brandeis at 1 p.m.
