Yale swept the day and retained the Case Cup, but the Radcliffe varsity eight did not go quietly. With a tailwind that increased throughout the day and a light rain during the first event, the V8 withstood a strong start to keep pace with the Bulldogs. Yale made a move over the middle 1,000 meters and a final push by Radcliffe would not be enough.
The second varsity eight was a length behind the Bulldogs, crossing with a time of 6:15.4. The
varsity four sat open water back from Yale, stopping the clock at 6:44.3.
The 3V finished 12 seconds after Yale, posting a time of 6:32.3. The RVH fourth varsity also competed in the race, notching a time of 6:48.8.
Radcliffe heads to the Eastern Sprints Championships Sunday, May 1 in Worcester.
