Gordon improves to 10-2 this season and 3-0 in the CCC. Wentworth falls two games below .500 in the conference at 1-3 and sits at 3-5 in the overall standings.
Zach Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) and Mason Casady (Santa Barbara, Calif.) hit their groove early with an 8-0 triumph at first doubles. Peter Godwin (Manchester, Conn.) and Joe Daugherty (Norfolk, Va.) were matched together for the first time since spring break, but they gutted out an 8-4 win at the second flight to put the Scots up 2-0.
Sophomore Caven Bell (Long Valley, N.J.) registered his first win of the season, as he partnered up
with Kristopher Marineau (Auburn, N.H.) at third doubles. The young Gordon duo fought off Mike Withington (Plymouth, Mass.) and James Thomas (Lakeville, Mass.) in a hotly contested 9-8 (7-4) victory.
The Fighting Scots had their way in singles action with all six being decided in straight sets. Hall and Casady clinched the match for Gordon with wins at one and two over James Drum (Madison, Conn.) and Henry Tittmann (Cambridge, Mass.) respectively.
Gordon has one day off before traveling to Worcester for a non-conference match at Clark at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Wentworth has an extra rest day, but will meet a stiff test at Roger Williams on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
