Murphy's Big Day Fuels Eagles to Win over Tar Heels in Finale

BC HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sophomore Annie Murphy was 2-of-2 at the plate with four RBI's, two singles and a sacrifice fly. She also stole a base.
  • Sophomore Jessica Dreswick pitched 5.0 relief innings, conceding just three hits, allowing no runs and striking out one. She earned her ninth win of the season in the process.

TURNING POINT
  • Boston College scored three in the bottom of the third to retake the lead and held on.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles struck first in the bottom of the first as a Murphy single drove home senior Jessie Daulton.
  • The Tar Heels answered with two of their own in the top of the second, as two plated off walks with the bases loaded.
  • Bostron College retook the lead in the bottom of the third, as the team rallied for three runs. With the bases loaded, Murphy laced a single to center field, scoring junior Tatiana Cortez and Daulton. Sophomore Chloe Sharabba followed up with a sac fly that brought home junior Madison Paulson.
  • The Eagles added another in the bottom of the fifth, as a sac fly from Murphy plated freshman Loren DiEmmanuele.

UP NEXT
The Eagles will play a double-header against Florida State on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Shea Field in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
