BABSON PARK, Mass.—Junior Emily Bresnahan (Wenham, Mass.) scored three goals and classmate Stevie Burger
(Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) stopped a season-high 11 shots to help Babson
College defeat visiting Wheaton College, 7-4, in New England Women's and

With its sixth win in the last seven games, Babson is now 7-3 overall
and remains unbeaten at 3-0 in conference play. Wheaton, which had won
three straight, drops to 6-6 overall and 3-1 in the NEWMAC.

just 1:14 into the contest. Wheaton responded with three straight
tallies to build a two-goal lead on Sabol's strike with 11:31 left in
the first half. Bresnahan cut the Beavers deficit to 3-2 on a feed from
from O'Halloran at the 8:19 mark, and then converted a pass from McKenna
to tie the game just before halftime.
Burger came up with four big stops over the first five minutes of the
second half, and Bresnahan notched her third straight goal to put the
Green and White in front for good with 24:58 to play. McKenna set up
Tucci's second goal to make it 5-3 at the 22:49 mark, and junior Francesca Giovanucci
(Easton, Mass.) followed another Burger save with her 12th tally of the
year to extend the Babson lead to 6-3 with 16:43 left in the game.
The Lyons snapped a scoring drought over 32 minutes when senior
Katherine Kowal (Ossining, N.Y.) made it a two-goal game with 9:25 left,
but O'Halloran buried a free-position shot with 3:31 remaining to ice
the win.

for Wheaton, which finished with a 7-5 edge in draw controls and a
22-21 advantage in ground balls. Both teams ended the game with 18
