The loss moves the Lyons to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in conference action. The Beavers advance to 6-7 overall and 3-1 in the NEWMAC.
Wheaton concluded the matchup with seven Lyons tallying a goal. Babson's Axel Brown netted a
game-high four goals while five players registered two goals and five additional players collected a single goal.
Mike Doucette led the Lyons in groundballs claiming five. Ryan Clair followed with four and CJ Leighton, Matt Morgan and Josh Talanian picked up three.
Connor Maloney led Babson with seven groundballs, while Jack O'Donoghue and Nathan Feldman marked five for the Beavers.
Kenen Glasgold earned his second win of the season for Babson, playing 30 minutes in goal, dishing out four saves.
The Beavers edged out the Lyons in groundballs, 35-29, while also having a 44-30 advantage in shots. Wheaton successfully completed 9-of-12 clear attempts, while Babson went 9-of-11.
The first quarter concluded with a 7-3 lead by Babson. Ryan Gjerset scored the first goal for Wheaton at the start with Devin Higgins and Scott Whear notching a goal of their own before the quarter ended.
The teams entered the half with Babson holding the 11-5 advantage with four goals in the second quarter and a goal from Morgan and Griffin Phaneuf for Wheaton.
Wheaton was only able to register two more goals in the second half before Babson sealed the 19-7 victory.
Wheaton returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Springfield College (5-7, 3-0 NEWMAC) in a conference matchup slated to start at 1 p.m.
