Middlebury got off to a hot start as the Panthers scored the first seven goals of the contest in the first 9:36. In the seven-goal span, Kate Zecca (Leesburg, Va.) had four points, including two goals and two assists to lead Middlebury. From there, Zecca completed the first-half hat trick with a goal at the 13:45 mark, before the Panthers netted four more to take a 12-0 advantage into the halftime break.
Opening up the second half, Madeline Riordan (Larchmont, N.Y.) found the back of the net just 2:26 into the frame, before the Panthers eventually made it 16-0 with a goal from Jane Earley (North Falmouth, Mass.) at the 2:33 mark. As time expired, the Pride got its lone goal, as Katie Martel (Granby, Conn.) found the back of the net on an assist from Jamie Jutras (Litchfield, N.H.), making it 16-1.
Up next, Springfield College will continue its tough non-conference slate when it travels to No.9 Trinity on Wednesday, March 13 for a 6 p.m. contest with the Bantams.
