Buccaneers Sail Past Scots

Recap, photo courtesy of Gordon College
Gordon College Men's Baseball squared off against Wisconsin's Beloit College this morning and was dealt a 15-5 loss.

The Scots have a pair of nine inning games tomorrow (today) against New Jersey City at 9:30 a.m. and again against Montclair scheduled for 1 p.m.

How It Happened

  • Daniel Quint reached on an error and later scored on a wild pitch to take the early 1-0 in the top of the first.
  • After a scoreless first for the Beloit, they got the bats moving in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs to take a 5-1 lead.
  • In the fourth, the Fighting Scots tacked on another run, but the Buccaneers put another five up on the scoreboard to lead, 10-2. An inning later, Quint laced a double to left before Christian Hodgebelted a monstrous homer over the left field scoreboard to cut to lead to six.
  • Alex Park doubled and later scored in the top of the sixth to cut the lead in half. However, in the bottom half of the inning, the home team again added five runs and took an eventual 15-5 win over the Fighting Scots.
