No. 7 Jumbos Defeat Gulls, 17-7

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott women's lacrosse team was handed a 17-7 loss by No. 7 Tufts on Thursday evening at Hempstead Stadium. 
The Jumbos scored five goals before the Gulls were able to find the back of the net on a tally from Allie Lawlor (York, Maine) with just over ten minutes remaining in the half. Tufts would increase its lead to 10-3 by halftime. 
Tufts continued to pressure offensively but Endicott would not go down without a fight, scoring four goals throughout the second half. Ultimately, the Jumbos were able to secure the 17-7 victory. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Alexandra Rose (East Lyme, Conn.) got the start in net and made 19 saves to shift to 0-1 on the season.
  • Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.) and Lawlor led the team with two goals each. Also scoring for the Gulls were Erin McCarthy (Old Lyme, Conn.)Jackie Healy (Northborough, Mass.), and Alex Fitzgerald (Guilford, Conn.).
  • Fitzgerald, Healy, Megan Jarvis (Auburn, N.H.), and Meghan Dutchyshyn(Cheshire, Conn.) all earned assists throughout the night. 
  • Gabriella Prisco (West Haven, Conn.) led the team in draw controls with eight and ground balls with four. 

FOR THE FOES

  • Audrey Evers (San Francisco, Calif.) earned the win in net with two saves and improved to 6-1 on the season. Kelly Melin (Hinsdale, Ill.) saw 16 minutes of action at the end of the contest and recorded one save.
  • Annie Sullivan (Barrington, R.I.)Dakota Adamec (Katonah, N.Y.), and Maria Dattolo (Palm Beach, Fla.) each scored three goals. Caroline Nowak (Glenview, Ill.)Maddie Norman (Glastonbury, Conn.)Catherine Lawliss (Portland, Ore.)Cecily Freliech (Wilton, Conn.)Kirsten Grazewski (Wayland, Mass.)Johanna O'Neil (Concord, Mass.), and Emily Games (Wayne, Pa.) all notched one goal.
  • Adamec led the team in draw controls with seven. 
  • Hedy Veith (Alexandria, Va.)Margaret Chase (Providence, R.I.), and Norman each had a team-high two caused turnovers. 
  • The Jumbos held a 44-16 shot advantage and went 18-for-19 on clear attempts.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (6-3, 2-0 CCC) will travel to Roger Williams on Wednesday, April 4 for a 4 p.m. contest. Tufts (6-1, 3-0 NESCAC) travels to Connecticut College at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 31.
