HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Bears posted three goals during the first 13 minutes as junior Ana Flooks (Weston, Conn.) ended the shutout at the 12:37 mark. Bridgewater State increased its cushion with 3:15 left but senior Katie Notarangelo (Foxboro, Mass.) narrowed the gap 18 seconds later.

- A free-position shot by Young cut the Engineers' deficit in half after 1:28 elapsed in the second stanza. The Bears recorded back-to-back goals, building a 6-3 lead with 22:27 on the clock. Less than two minutes later Flooks buried an unassisted marker, sparking a string of five unanswered goals that put the visitors ahead for good.

- Bridgewater State ended its scoring drought, coming within one (8-7) with 12:16 left to play. MIT created some breathing room courtesy of goals by Young at the 8:35 and 5:45 marks. Junior Cecilia McCormick (Islip, N.Y.) capped the scoring on a strike that was set up by Flooks with just over four minutes remaining.
