Harvard Sailing Tallies Eighth at New England Team Race Championship and Mystic Lake Team Race

Sailing captured two eighth-place finishes this weekend (Athletic Communications).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard sailing team placed eighth at the New England Team Race Championship, hosted by Coast Guard, and at the Mystic Lake Team Race, hosted by Tufts, while also racing to 13th at the Emily Wick Trophy Women's Regatta, hosted by Connecticut College.

At the New England Team Race Championship, the Crimson tallied a 5-6 record for an eighth-place finish sailing in FJ vessels. With skippers Andrew Mollerus, Nick Sertl and Marek Zaleski and crews Sydney Karnovsky, Nomin-Erdene Jagdagdorj and Julia Lord, the Crimson registered its victories over Roger Williams, Dartmouth, Coast Guard, Bowdoin, and Boston University.

The Mystic Lake Team Race saw similar results as Harvard posted another eighth-place mark. Overall, the Crimson grabbed wins over Boston University, Rhode Island and Northeastern. Sailing in Larks, Skippers included Nicolas Karnovsky, Andrew Puopolo and Jackson Wagner, while the crews included Alejandra Resendiz, Christine Gosioco and Robert Anderson.

The A-division of Taylor Ladd and Kirstin Anderson recorded 75 points, while the B-division of Taylor Gavula and Lena Episalla registered 100 points. Both pairings sailed to eight top-10 results in the 16-race regatta at the Emily Wick Trophy Women's Regatta.

The Crimson will compete in its most regattas of the spring season with the Presidents' Trophy (Boston University), Thompson Trophy (Coast Guard/Connecticut College), Owen and Mosbacher/Kapp Trophies (Cornell), Oberg Trophy (MIT) and Savin Hill Central Series (Boston College) lined up from April 16-17.
