NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's lacrosse team defeated the Blue of Wellesley College, 12-5, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup to close out regular season action.

The Lyons end the regular season 9-8 overall and 6-2 in conference, currently holding the second seed in the NEWMAC rankings. The Blue fall to 9-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play in the six seed.

Sabol got the ball rolling in the second half when she notched her third goal of the game at 22:59. This would start Wheaton's six-goal rampage as they increased the lead to 12-4. Wellesley's Peterson would net one more goal at the end of the game to chip away at the lead, but Wheaton would seal the 12-5 victory.

Goalkeeper Molly Witten tallied (8-6) six saves as Wheaton outshot Wellesley 27-16 and held a 27-21 mark in groundballs.
