BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Fires Breaks Out In Lawrence, Andover, North Andover


7:29pm Update: MSP Fusion Center has current updated tally of responses to fires/explosions/investigations of gas odor at 70. Spread over wide swath of south #Lawrence and northern part of #NorthAndover with several others across Merrimack River in north Lawrence. 
Updated plotting of confirmed fires and explosions by MSP Watch Center. 39 locations confirmed thus far. Number will grow. New responses ongoing. Reminder: all residents of Lawrence/Andover/N Andover who have Columbia Gas must evacuate, as should anyone else who smells gas. 
Confirmed fires/explosions plotted on map by MSP Watch Center. As seen, incidents are across a wide swath of dozens of blocks across Lawrence and North Andover.

7:09pm Update: Mass State Police, Power company will be shutting OFF power to all of #Lawrence, #NorthAndover, and #Andover to assist in the #Gas situation.
7:06pm Update: Most fires appear to be knocked down.
6:42pm Update: The Chelmsford Fire Department is providing mutual aid to the natural gas emergency in the City of Lawrence and the Towns of Andover and North Andover.  There is no safety concern for the Town of Chelmsford.
6:13pm Update: According to Mass State Police, Residents in the affected towns of Lawrence/North Andover/Andover who have gas service from Columbia Gas should evacuate their homes immediately if they have not already done so. Gas lines are currently being depressurized by the company it will take some time.
6:09pm: According to fire department, Billerica Engine 2 now responding to the City of Lawrence along with Engine 1 & Ladder 1.
6pm Update: According to Mass State Police, Numerous evacuations of neighborhoods where there are gas odors are underway. Far too early to speculate on cause. Joint investigation will be conducted when situation is stabilized.
5:55pm Update: 9th alarm response requested to the city, several reported fires with no units to send to the calls. Massive mutual aid response is on the way.

Evacuations are Underway, all Residents with Gas Services are Strongly Urged to Evacuate.
