Tufts Women's Tennis Flattens Connecticut College in NESCAC Match, 9-0

NEW LONDON, CT - The 15th ranked Tufts University women's tennis team secured a 9-0 victory on the South Tennis Courts at Connecticut College Friday afternoon. The Jumbos lost just three games in doubles and six in singles.

Tufts improved their record to 10-4 with a 4-2 mark in the NESCAC. The Camels fell to 10-7 with a 1-4 record in conference play.

An 8-0 win by Conner Calabro and Tomo Iwasaki in #2 doubles highlighted a three-match sweep for Tufts. The closest contest was an 8-2 final at #3 with Jumbos Chelsea Hayashi and Zoe Miller topping Camels Brinley Bartlett and Emily Migliorini.

In singles, Iwasaki did not give up a game in the #4 match to put Tufts up 4-0 in the team score. Hayashi shut out her opponent as well on the sixth singles court providng Tufts with its decisive fifth win of the match.

Miller at #5, Mina Karamercan at #2, and Calabro at #3 all won their matches for the Jumbos while losing just one game in two sets. Lauren Louks posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the number one match to finish off the shutout.

The Jumbos are at Wesleyan on Sunday for a 1 pm match. The Camels host Middlebury College on Sunday at 1 pm.
