WENHAM, Mass.— Down to its final four outs, Lasell staged a late comeback to shock Gordon College 3-2 at J. Tec White Field on Tuesday evening. The Lasers took advantage of a host of Gordon miscues on the late going to beat the Scots in non-conference baseball action.

With the victory, the Lasers draw their ledger to an even 13-13 for the year. Gordon falls for a season-worst fourth consecutive game after the Scots began the year at 16-7.

The first six innings breezed by on both sides of the scorecard. Gordon threatened to score in third
and fifth innings after putting runners in scoring position with only one out. However, the Fighting Scots squandered both prime opportunities to put a run on the board.

The Scots finally broke through for two runs in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of hits. Freshman Alec Willey (San Diego, Calif.) had his first non-home run of the season with a single before being ushered in to score on a triple by Jeremy Jackson (Waco, Texas). Jackson scored a play later when Addison Tarr (Oxnard, Calif.) flied out to deep right for the 2-0 lead.

Lasell countered right back with two runs in the top of the eighth, both coming with two outs. The Fighting Scots looked well on their way to a quick inning with a fly out and groundout to begin things. However, a hit by pitch and a walk kept the inning alive for the Lasers and forced a pitching change.

Hector Coscione (Newton, Mass.) drove in the first run of the game for the Lasers with a single. Another runner crossed the plate just a moment later when a ball skirted underneath the Gordon catcher to the backstop for the equalizer.

The Lasers went on top for the first time in the ninth inning as Skylar Beckerman (Pensacola, Fla.) led it off with a double to the gap. Gordon attempted to pick Beckerman off at second, but the ball went into center on the play to move the base runner up. Beckerman scored the go-ahead run a minute later on another passed ball due to a pitch in the dirt.

Daniel Petr (E. Haven, Conn.) came to close the door on the Scots in the ninth to clinch the third straight late-inning comeback against the home team.

Thomas Pietruczuk (Norwich, Conn.) earned his first win of the season in one inning of work. Scott Hall (Weymouth, Mass.) dropped his second consecutive decision in 1.1 innings of relief work. Gordon freshman Connor Rogotzke (Altamont, N.Y.) was strong in the start in 6.1 innings, but was forced to leave due to injury. He struck out four batters and allowed only three hits.

Tarr and Jackson combined to go 4-for-5 with both runs batted in for Gordon.
