Two Killed After Plane Crash At Taunton Airport


UPDATE 12:49pm: The small aircraft crashed on departure and the two people on board were killed. The names of the victims have not been released.


Authorities from MassDOT Aeronautics, the FAA, Massachusetts State Police, Taunton Police Dept., Taunton Fire Dept., and the State Medical Examiner's Office are on scene and handling the investigation.


Taunton, Massachusetts - RCN America Network has learned that two have been killed in a plane crash at Taunton Municipal Airport.

 According to the Taunton Emergency Management Agency Twitter account, Taunton police and fire crews responded to the airport at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday for the report of a plane that had crashed and was on fire.

It was not immediately known if the plane was taking off or landing at the airport. FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said authorities are still trying to determine the type of the aircraft.
