BOSTON, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference
(NEWMAC) has announced its weekly awards and Mount Holyoke College
student-athlete Zoe Marshall
has been named the Defensive Player of the Week. It marks the second
weekly honor of the season for the junior captain, who was previously
honored in September.
Marshall, a goalkeeper out of Mississauga, Ont., earned her honor
after backstopped the Lyons to a critical week of conference play,
notching two shutouts and 23 saves. In a 1-0 win at Clark, she recorded
nine stops. Marshall then notched 14 saves - her third highest total of
the season - as the Lyons defeated Wellesley, 1-0, It also marked her
third and fourth shutouts of the year.
A graduate of Cawthra Park Secondary School, Marshall currently
sports a 7-3-1 record on the season, including a 3-1-1 mark in NEWMAC
play. She has an .884 save percentage with a 1.03 goals against average.
In addition to her 84 saves on the season, Marshall has surrendered
just 11 goals on the year in 965:00 minutes played. She also has four
shutouts and one combined effort.
Among the NEWMAC leaders, Marshall leads the conference in saves,
while also ranking second in save percentage. She ranks fourth in
shutouts, while also sitting eighth in goals against average and goals
allowed.
The Lyons return to action this evening, hosting Coast Guard at
6:30pm. MHC will also be at home on Saturday, welcoming conference-rival
