Stow, Mass. - Sophomore Travis Price (Reading, Mass.) and sophomore Greg Allen (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) led
the Springfield College golf team during the final day of the New
England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championships to a fifth place
finish and a total score of 712.
Price earned Second-Team All-Conference honors as he finished the
two-day competition in ninth place overall, with a score of 165 (81,
84). Allen finished in twelfth overall, with a score of 171 (80, 91),
and earned a spot on the Sportsmanship Team.
The next golfer for the Pride was Chris Paradis (Westfield, Mass.), with a total of 197 (95,92), sharing a spot in 23rd place. Rounding out the scoring was Brent Poulin (Atascadero, Calif.) and Ryan Blain (Longmeadow, Mass.), with
a total score of 190 (99, 91) and 202 (98, 104), respectively. Poulin
finished in 25th place, while Blain finished in 30th place.
Babson College won the championship with a team score of 617 and earn
an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships in May 2016. Elms College
took second place with 669 strokes, while Becker College broke the tie
from the previous day with a total of 699 strokes and a third place
finish. Daniel Webster College with 709 strokes and Springfield College
with 712 strokes rounded out the top five.
Up next, the Pride compete next weekend for the ECAC Championship title at the Ranch Golf Club.
