NORTHAMPTON, MA – Bayleigh Bogan
scored twice to lead the Smith College field hockey team to a 5-0
victory over visiting Western New England in a non-conference contest
Thursday evening (Oct. 8).
Emily Briggs gave the hosts an early 1-0 lead just 1:24 into the game before Julia Hamilton and Caroline Labriola added goals to give Smith a 3-0 advantage at halftime. Bogan tallied the last two scores in the second stanza.
Grace Trupe compiled seven saves for the Golden Bears while Cameo Tietie made one stop for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers held a 21-3 advantage in shots.
Western New England now has a 5-6 record while Smith improves to 6-5.
