Hamilton Earns MASCAC Weekly Honors


Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State junior forward Brendon Hamilton (Worcester, Mass.) received the MASCAC Player of the Week after averaging 21 points and 20 rebounds in a two-game span for the Owls this past week.

Hamilton opened the week with a 21-point and 21-rebound double-double in an 87-54 victory over Elms College on Monday. He followed up the stellar performance by posting 21 points, 19 rebounds, and three blocks in an 86-76 win

over Mitchell College on Saturday. Hamilton played a key role down the stretch for the Owls on both sides of the floor as he recorded six points, six rebounds, and three blocks in the final four minutes of the game to seal the victory.  

Through nine games this season, Hamilton is averaging 13.8 points, 15.3 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 49.5% from the field. His 15.3 rebounds per game currently ranks fourth in the country (just 2.0 rebounds per game behind the top rebounder), and his 2.1 blocks is tied for second in the conference. Hamilton has logged a double-double in five of nine games on the season.

Hamilton and the Owls will host Wheaton College in their next match-up on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. from the Woodward Center in Westfield, Mass.
