Nichols' Second Half Surge Drops Gulls, 2-1

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team fell to host Nichols College, 2-1, Monday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) road contest at Vendetti Field.

Freshman forward Emmanuel Kollie (Boston, Mass.) netted his first career goal in the 36th minute (unassisted) to give the Gulls a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

The Bison scored two unanswered goals in the second half to come from behind to hand the Gulls'
their first conference loss of the season.

Freshman forward Chris Noga (Belchertown, Mass.) notched his fifth goal of the season in traffic in front of the goal for the equalizer on a pass from his high school teammate in freshman midfielder Jonathan Ingram (Belchertown, Mass.) in the 60th minute.

Noga then sent a through ball to junior forward/midfielder Paul Sickinger (Tyngsboro, Mass.) whose deposit in the 81st minute proved to be the game-winner.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

Today's match saw the Bison even the all-time series, 10-10-1 dating back to the 2001 season.
Nichols out-shot Endicott, 16-10, including a 13-4 margin in the second half.
Senior goalkeeper Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) made five stops in goal as he fell to 5-3-2 (2-1-0 CCC) on the season, bringing his career saves total to 133, which ties him with Austin Peluso for third on the program's career saves list.
The Gulls' three yellow cards and one red card in a single match was the team's highest  card total this season and first red card since the 2014 season against Nichols.
FOR THE FOES

Freshman goalkeeper Juan Carlos De La Cruz (Stamford, Conn.) stopped five shots as he improved to 2-1-1 on the season.
Noga tallied one goal and one assist (second of the season) to lead the Bison with three points.
Noga has scored in three consecutive matches for the Bison, but today was his first career time registering at least one goal and one assist in the same match.
Sickinger recorded his third goal of the season and first game-winning goal on the year.
Ingram registered his first career assist.
NOTES

Today's match was rescheduled from Saturday, October 1 due to wet field conditions.
The Gulls won the most recent meeting before today, 2-0, in Beverly, Mass. on 09/18/15.
WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (5-3-2, 2-1-0 CCC) will square off against Eastern Nazarene in Quincy, Mass. on Tuesday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m.

Nichols (6-4-1, 3-1-0 CCC) travels to Fitchburg, Mass. to take on Fitchburg St. on Wednesday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m. in non-conference action.
