Boston, Mass. - The Springfield
College men's cross country team competed against top teams in the
region during the New England Championships on Saturday afternoon. The
Pride raced at Franklin Park on an 8K course.
The fastest runner of the day for the Pride was Johnny O'Hanlon (Haworth, N.J.), crossing the finish line in a time of 26:48.1 and in 167th place.
Next in for Springfield were runners Jacob Simons (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.). Simons completed the course in 28:51.0 and 235th place, while Pinho finished the course in 28:56.1 and 239th place. Owen Ross (Closter, N.J.) finished in a time of 29:36.6 and Ben Malin (Easton, Mass.) finished in 29:48.8, to finish out the top five Pride runners.
Boston University won the championship with 143 points, followed by
Amherst (176) and Maine (199). The Pride finished 36th overall with
1,105 points.
Springfield will continue their 2015 competition next Saturday at the Connecticut College Invitational.
