NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College soccer team will
be hosting their Breast Cancer Awareness game on Saturday, October 17
at 2:00 p.m. against MIT.
The Pioneers will be wearing pink
warmup shirts prior to the game and ask that all fans wear pink in
support. A $4.00 donation to this important cause is encouraged by all
attending the game.
All proceeds from donations will benefit the
National Breast Cancer Foundation. The National Breast Cancer Foundation
was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor Janelle Hall. At the time
of her diagnosis in 1980, there was little information about the
disease, and she was forced to make a decision about her health with few
options. After her treatment, Janelle made a commitment to help women
around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the
importance of early detection.
