PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard freshman forward Kathleen Young has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Young had a fantastic game Sunday, helping the Crimson top Fairfield,
4-0, with the first multi-goal game of her career. Early in the second
half, Young capped a fantastic transition play for Harvard with a
one-timer into the back of the cage off a terrific pass from Marissa Balleza.
Young put the exclamation point on the day minutes later with her
second goal, also assisted by Balleza. Young made a great fake to deke
the goalie out of position, clearing the way for her to slip the ball
into an open cage.
