Blue Golf Takes Ninth at Williams Fall Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Wellesley College golf team wrapped up play at this weekend's  Williams Fall Invitational on Sunday. The Blue shot a combined 361 following their 360 effort on Saturday to finish in ninth place out of 15 teams at the two-day event at the par-71, 5,819-yard Taconic Golf Club. 

Williams College took home first at their own event, with NYU in second, and Middlebury in third. The Ephs were paced by overall winner Cordelia Chan, as she finished with a total of score of 151, nine strokes over par. 

Sophomore Maya Muldowney (Waunakee, Wis.) delivered the top performance for Wellesley, shooting a day-two 99 after carding an 80 on the opening day to finsih in a tie for 37th with a score of 175. First-year Annika Vandayar (Garnet Valley, Pa.) finished just behind Muldowney, taking 39th with a score of 176 (89, 87). 

First years Amy (Zilin) Jin (Shenzhen,China) and Katie Lee (Portland, Ore.) each tied for 61st place with matching scores of 189 on the weekend.

Rounding out the field for the Blue, senior Lei Wei (Brentwood, Calif.) finished with a weekend total of 194 to tie for 66th place, while sophomore Kathleena Inchoco (Fairfield, Conn.) added a 211 to take 78th place.  

Wellesley will close out the fall schedule next weekend, October 17 and 18, by hosting the annual Ann S. Batchelder Invitational on campus at Nehoiden Golf Course.
