Dudley, Mass. -- Zachary Lemire (Lowell, Mass.) recorded a hat trick as
Nichls College defeated Salem State 5-0 on Wednesday evening. Andrew
Hess (Westfield, Mass.) opened up the scoring at 18:58 when senior Tiago Prazeres (West Hartford, Conn.)
passed it over the defenders and Hess was able to beat the defense to
the ball. He then went one-on-one with sophomore goaltender Greg Enos (Peabody, Mass.) and placed the ball into the lower left corner of the net.
Sophomore Connor Nutt (Easton, Mass.)
extended the lead to two goals at 51:16 when he blasted a shot into the
back of the net off of a turnover deep in the Vikings zone. The goal
was Nutt's first marker of the season. Lemire scored the next three
goals ('67, '78, '83) to put the Vikings away. Porpora stopped seven
shots on his way to his second-collegiate victory and second shutout.
Enos made four saves in the loss. Junior Tim Kilpatrick
