Williamstown, MA.—The Ephs (5-4-1/NESCAC 2-3-1) continued their NESCAC campaign against the Colby College Mules (4-5-1/NESCAC 2-3-1) with a decisive 2-0 victory. A quick throw-in by Justin Adams, with 30 seconds left in the first half, led to the game-sealing goal. The ball fell to the feet of Eli Petrik, who drove the ball down the wing and switched the field to Tate Michelson. Michelson controlled the ball and stroked it under the outstretched hand of Colby's keeper Brendan McCarthy to put the Ephs up 2-0.

In the 13th minute, Mules forward Justin Lauer found space on the right wing and chipped a ball across towards the 6-yard box. Goalkeeper Ben Diffley asserted his presence and came strong off his line to catch the cross.
Colby had another opportunity in the 19th minute as Nicholas Lemire put in a cross from the right-hand side. Josh Rubin flicked the ball on frame, but Ben Diffley once again reacted quickly and made an important save.
In the 31st minute, the Ephs won a penalty. Will Felitto stepped up to the spot and smashed the ball into the bottom right corner, tallying his first goal of the season.
Dylan Kelemen won the ball from Colby's last man in the 61st minute and bolted down the field on a breakaway. Brendan McCarthy made himself big to save Kelemen's shot from 12 yards out.
In the 66th minute, a cross was put in by the Mules which found the head of Josh Rubin. Ben Diffley jumped quickly to his left to make a full extension catch.
With 7 minutes left in the game, Nathan Song and Rick Usami combined with each other. Usami slipped Song through on goal, but a Colby defender reacted just in time to block the shot of Song.
Ben Diffley finished the match with 6 saves and Brendan McCarthy ended with 2 saves.
"Great performance today in all areas by the guys," said Ephs head coach Steffen Siebert. "Now we look forward to hosting another strong NESCAC team here on Cole Field tomorrow!"
The Ephs will host Bowdoin tomorrow at 2:30PM.
