A line of significant storms passed through central Massachusetts this morning. NWS has confirmed that a tornado touched down in the area of Webster and Dudley, and will be conducting an assessment today to determine intensity, path and width.
•The most significant damage appears to be along Main Street in Webster near the Dudley town line. Three buildings have been condemned – 2 commercial and one mixed use that included several apartments in the upper levels. An additional 4-5 buildings have been placarded as uninhabitable.
•Approximately 25 Webster residents have been displaced. American Red Cross in on scene working with these residents. At this time, shelter operations are not planned.
•There are reports of significant tree debris in Dudley, but no significant structural damage at this time.
•One storm-related injury (minor) has been reported at this time.
•Hubbard Hospital in Webster had been on diversion.
•Five MEMA liaisons are on scene in Webster and Dudley. The MEMA Director is en route and the State Fire Marshal is on scene.
•American Red Cross is on scene in Webster.
•National Grid crews are on scene in Webster.
10:24am Update: Confirmed building damage in Webster. Sutton, Grafton, Millbury take precautions, according to Uxbridge Fire Dept.
Update 10:13am: heavy storm damage , unconfirmed tornado touchdown, PD requesting mutual aid.
BREAKING NEWS: Webster, Massachusetts - Firefighters are responding to reported of a full building collapse at 75 Main Street on Saturday, August 4th, 2018 in Webster, Massachusetts.
