Daigle Named NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

BOSTON -- WPI sophomore Melissa Daigle (Norfolk, MA) has been chosen as the NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. She becomes the first Engineer honoree since Joan Porambo in 2010.

Daigle amassed 59 kills last week as the Engineers went 4-0 including a thrilling 3-2 victory over defending NEWMAC tournament champion Babson. The sophomore outside hitter reached double figures in kills in all four matches, including 18 and 17 respectively in conference wins against Babson and Smith. Daigle also totaled 20 digs and six blocks. 

WPI returns to action Saturday with a trip to Eastern Nazarene. First serve is slated for 11am.
