EASTON, Massachusetts — Chief Kevin Partridge is pleased to announce that a new firefighter was sworn in at the Easton Board of Selectmen meeting Monday night.

Family members and friends gathered at Easton Town Hall to watch Troy Selley take his oath and be sworn in by Town Clerk Danielle M. Sicard.

“We’re excited to bring Troy on as a member of the fire department,” Chief Partridge said. “He brings a lot of valuable experience having worked in EMS for several years. His commitment to helping others is something we’re thankful for and we know he’ll make a great addition to our department.”

For the past five years, Selley, of New Bedford, was working full-time for New Bedford Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He has also worked for Fall River EMS, as well as a private ambulance service. Additionally, Selley has worked as a paramedic for the past six years.

Following the ceremony, Selley will go through the department’s orientation training before heading to the fire academy. On Feb. 23, Selley will start his 10-week training at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in Stow.
