EASTON, Mass. (September 26, 2021) - Stonehill College continued its fall non-conference schedule with a 5-2 victory over Emerson College in men's tennis action on Charles Watt Tennis Courts this afternoon.
The Details
- Fifth-year Trent Newman led three double-winners for Stonehill in the victory. He teamed up with junior Luke Nickerson for a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles and then posted a 6-4, 6-4 decision at No. 3 singles against Emerson freshman Ryu Watanabe.
- Nickerson pulled Stonehill within a point of the match win with his 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against freshman Daniel Kennedy.
- Sophomore Louis Coppi was also a double-winner for Stonehill, while junior Ben Simmons won the match clinching point with his 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 6 singles against junior Cooper Sherman.
