Tynsgborough Police Save Life Following Response to Local Bridge

TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports lifesaving efforts by Tyngsborough Police prevented a tragedy this Saturday.

Officers Timothy Sullivan and Evan Donnelly rescued a woman from the edge of the Tyngsborough bridge at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. She was not injured by the incident but was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. 

“The actions of Officer Evan Donnelly and

Officer Tim Sullivan resulted in saving this young womans’ life, and I could not be more proud and thankful for their quick and professional response during a stressful and chaotic situation,” Chief Howe said. “We have an incredible group of individuals working at our Police Department, and this is just another example of the dedication and professionalism I get to see everyday working at the TPD.”

The Tyngsborough Police Department is one of five area police departments belonging to the Front Line Initiative. The collaboration works with mental health clinicians, peer recovery coaches and licensed drug and alcohol clinical interns following mental health incidents to provide teletherapy, follow-up by phone, individual and group recovery services, case management/referral services, access to crisis care and general support.
