NEW LONDON, Conn.—Five different players were
victorious in both singles and doubles as visiting Babson College
defeated Connecticut College, 8-1, in non-conference men's tennis action
on Wednesday afternoon.
Babson, which has won two straight matches is now 5-6 overall, while Connecticut College drops to 3-9 on the year.
The Beavers took control of the match with three hard-fought wins in doubles. Senior Roberto Perez (Pozuelo de Alarcon, Spain) and first-year Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) posted an 8-6 victory at number one, while seniors Isaac Thylen (Surfside, Fla.) and Victor Vu (Los Angeles, Calif.) earned a 9-7 triumph at number two. The Green and White completed the sweep as junior Dom Wysolmerski (Rutland, Vt.) and sophomore Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) won 8-4 at number three.
Perez was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at number one singles, while Thylen
posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at number two. Vu breezed to a 6-1, 6-4 result
at number three, Rosenbluth earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory at number four
and Roque eased to a 6-0, 6-0 win at number five.
Both teams return to action on Saturday as Babson takes on Tufts at
9:30 a.m. and Emerson at 1 p.m., while the Camels travel to Colby at 2
p.m.
