Western New England blanks Massachusetts College 3-0 for its third shutout of the season

SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Western New England women's soccer team posted its third shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory over visiting Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Wednesday (Oct. 7) at Suprenant Field.
The Golden Bears are now 3-8-2 after winning for the second time in their last four outings. The Trailblazers fall to 1-9.
WNE scored a pair of goals in the opening half on shots by Alicia Lewis (from Katelynn Cummings) at 8:07 and Brooke Labrie (from Lewis and Jessica Burke) at the 13:12 mark.
Western New England opened up a two-goal lead when Cummings tallied the final goal of the game at 81:06.
Briana Kubik stopped both shots on goal while Kathryn Daly compiled four saves for MCLA.
The Golden Bears enjoyed a 15-3 advantage in shots on the picture perfect early fall afternoon.
