BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Powered by a 10th place finish from senior Elizabeth DeLeon,
the Mount Holyoke College cross country team finished seventh of 43
teams in the collegiate white race at the 2015 Paul Short Invitational,
hosted by Lehigh University. DeLeon's outstanding effort came in a field
of over 328 runners.
Her 10th place finish came in a time of 22:47. DeLeon was followed closely by sophomore Sunny Shan, who crossed the line in a time of 23:37 - good for 29th overall. Classmate Mia Barnes posted 74th overall with a time of 24:35, while Hannah Gershone was just behind in 75th with a mark of 24:36.
Junior Brianna Weir powered her way to 90th overall, making it across the line in 24:53, followed by sophomore Kelly Stevens, who placed just outside the top-100 with a time of 25:17 - good for 106th overall.
Rounding out the team performance was first year Corrin Moss, who notched a time of 26:11, which was good for 139th overall.
Individually, sophomore Caroline Black was 169th with a time of 26:30, followed by classmate Julia Criscione, who was 243rd with a time of 28:10 and Mishra Gargi who was 247th (28:19).
