Ryan stars as Jessie, a starry-eyed teenager born and raised in a military family who ventures to New York City to make her dreams come true. Once arriving in New York, she winds up becoming a nanny to four gregarious kids, in the Disney Channel comedy series "Jessie."
Ryan recently starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Radio Rebel" and is well known for her starring role as "Bailey Pickett" on the hit Disney Channel series, "The Suite Life on Deck." In 2010 she starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie "16 Wishes." In addition to singing the movie’s theme song, "A Wish Comes True Everyday," she co-wrote a second track, "Open Eyes," with her singer-songwriter
brother, Chase. Committed to humanitarian work and social justice, she originated the role of a Disney Friends for Change Ambassador, helping to encourage kids and families to make a lasting, positive change by helping people, communities and the planet.
Ryan made her feature film debut in "The Longshots," alongside Keke Palmer and Ice Cube, and more recently starred in "What If," opposite Kevin Sorbo, John Ratzenberger and Kristy Swanson.
Born May 13, 1993, Ryan spent her early years in Alabama, Texas and Germany. Heavily involved in music, she and Chase have built a home studio where they've begun working on cover songs and creating original content from the ground up, both for other artists and herself. She hopes one day to launch a record label. She has a tremendous passion for meeting and speaking to young people and supports various charities.
When not working on her television, film and music projects, she loves to make s'mores in her backyard with friends, read, take photos and orchestrate road trip adventures.
Ryan currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
