Western New England Jumps Two Spots to No. 15 in USILA/Nike DIII Poll

Golden Bears coming off wins over Nichols & UNE last week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – After two consecutive weeks of being ranked No. 17 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Nike Division III Poll, the Western New England University men's lacrosse team has jumped two spots to No. 15 in this week's edition, which was released this afternoon.

The Golden Bears (10-3, 6-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference) kept their perfect CCC record intact last week with a 13-4 victory over Nichols on Tuesday and a 16-13 triumph at the University of New England on Saturday.

Junior Justin Bard (Westfield, Mass.) led the Western New England offense with 11 points (seven goals, four assists) last week, while senior David Cedrone (Yantic, Conn.) earned his fourth consecutive CCC Specialist of the Week award after going a near-perfect 28-for-29 (97%) at the faceoff X.

Western New England returns to action on Wednesday night with a home contest against Curry as head coach John Klepacki goes for his 200th career victory. The Golden Bears then hit the road on Friday for a key non-conference clash against No. 19 Nazareth at Herkimer Community College in Herkimer, N.Y.
