No. 14 Men's Tennis Topples MIT, 6-3

AMHERST, Mass. – Up 2-1 after doubles competition, the No. 14 Amherst College men's tennis team claimed four of six singles matches to down MIT, 6-3 in Friday afternoon's non-conference matchup at the Amherst Tennis Courts.

DOUBLES HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Purple & White earned victories on the first and third court in doubles play to take a 2-1 lead.
  • The duo of Aaron Revzin '16 and Zach Bessette '19 battled to an 8-6 victory over Kevin Wang and Tyler Barr, while Andrew Yaraghi '16 and Jesse Levitin '19 logged an 8-4 win in the third position.
SINGLES HIGHLIGHTS
  • In number one singles Bessette fought to a three-set victory, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 against Wang, while Ben Fife '16 powered to a 7-6, 6-4 win over Sean Ko on court four.
  • Levitin notched a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 triumph on court five, while Andrew Arnaboldi '17 tallied Amherst's final point, downing Dennis Garcia in three-sets 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 in the sixth position.
UP NEXT
  • Amherst returns to the courts on Sunday, April 17 when they face off against Little Three rival Wesleyan in a NESCAC matchup at 12 p.m. before taking on Springfield College at 4 p.m.
