How it Happened
• The Falcons jumped on KSC starter Kevin Guild, who lasted just a third of a inning and gave up four earned runs. Andrew Currie led off the game with an infield single and Javier Lozada hit a two run homer over the fence in left field.
• Mike St. John and Roel Fernandez also had RBI singles in the first.
• Sacrifice flies from Nathan Littman and Robert Lewis III
in the fourth increased the lead to
6-0. Keene State pulled back a run
in the bottom half of the inning when Dustin Howe was hit by a pitch,
moved to third on a double by Kolby Reggione, and scored on a sacrifice
fly off the bat of Mac Struthers.
• Fitchburg State added two more runs in each of the final two innings
as the Owls committed four errors. Keene State added one more on an RBI
single by Christian Bourgea in the bottom of the ninth.
• Bourgea was the only Owl batter with two hits. Four KSC relievers
combined for 10 strikeouts, including three from Steve Zadravec and five
from Michael Crimi.
• Lozada finished 3-for-6 with three hits and three RBI. Fernandez, Andrew Mooney, and Currie each had two hits. Starter Tom Gammell went six innings, striking out six and scattering five hits. Noah Millard tossed the final three innings to earn the save.
