Ciolek and Metcalf finished in a nine-way tie for fifth place in the 51-player field after shooting
matching scores of 77 on the 6,655-yard course. Junior Matt Fontaine (East Longmeadow, Mass.) fired an 81, good for a tie for 26th, while classmates Nick Shemkovitz (Meriden, Conn.) and Erik Laaksonen (Sandy Hook, Conn.) finished in ties for 35th (85) and 37th (86), respectively.
Western New England posted a combined score of 320 on its way to fifth place in the ten-team field. Salem State finished first (308), while Rhode Island College followed in second (313) and host Worcester State rounded out the top-three (314). Salem State's Tom MacPherson shot a two-over par 74 to claim the top individual honors.
The Golden Bears return to action this weekend at the Wildcats Spring Invitational, hosted by Johnson & Wales University at Cranston Country Club in Cranston, R.I.
