Minutemen Fall at No. 7 Brown, 15-7

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Five goals in the fourth quarter weren't enough as University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse fell at No. 7 Brown, 15-7, on Saturday, at Stevenson-Pincince Field, in Providence. The Minutemen fall to 2-3 on the season as the Bears advance to 3-0.

Seven different players scored for Massachusetts as sophomore Buddy Carr and redshirt junior Dan Muller (first of the season) each recorded two points with their assists. Junior Brendan Hegarty, junior Gianni Bianchin, freshman John Tierney (first collegiate), sophomore Jake Lisauskas and freshman Tyler Bogart also scored in today's game.

All three of UMass' goalies recorded time at Brown. Junior D.J. Smith earned the start and played all 30 minutes of the first half. He collected eight saves. Sophomore Dan Dolan started the second half, playing just over 20 minutes. He had three saves. Freshman Sean Sconone made his collegiate debut, playing nearly 10 minutes and making three saves.

Eight different Brown players scored goals with three scoring multiple. Senior Bailey Tills paced the Bears' offense with four goals. Senior Henry Blynn chipped in with three goals on seven shots and one assist. Junior Dylan Molloy also had four points on two goals and two assists. He also took eight shots.




Senior Jack Kelly played nearly 51 minutes in goal for the Bears. He had 11 saves and five goals against. Freshman Acie Newton allowed two goals and had two saves in nine minutes of action.
