UMass Tennis Bounces Back With 7-0 Win Over Providence

AMHERST, Mass. - After a two-week break since its last match, the UMass women's tennis team turned in a 7-0 win over Providence on Thursday afternoon at the Mullins Center Courts. The Minutewomen improve to 1-1 on the year and will return to action at the ITA Northeast Regionals (Oct. 24-26).

UMass got off to a fast start with Ruth Crawford and Anna Woosley picking up a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. Arielle Griffin and Laura Moreno finished next at No. 3 singles with a 6-2 win to solidify the doubles point for UMass.

In singles action, Aarzoo Malik, Ana Yrazusta, and Moreno all won in straight sets to clinch the team win for UMass.

Crawford saw her first action at No. 1 singles for UMass picking up a three-set win, while Woosley won at No. 3 singles and Brittany Collens won in two sets at No. 6 singles.
