BREAKING NEWS: Boston Nine Alarm Fire...Under Investigation

UPDATE #5 Chief gives an initial estimate of $2,000,000.00 in damage. 12 Harvard with 6 apts received extensive fire & water damage. 

8 and 16 Harvard Terrace received smoke and water damage. Remains to be seen how extensive. Will know more tomorrow.

Chief will keep a couple of fire trucks on scene throughout night to make sure there are no flareups.

UPDATE #4 Per the Building Commissioner, no one is to enter buildings tonight. Structure will be assessed in morning before anyone in.

Fire will remain under investigation at least until tomorrow.

UPDATE #3  Boston EMS treated and transported 2 bystanders with minor injuries..
Commissioner Finn now Incident Command. Division 1 is Operations

Boston EMS treated 5 firefighters. 2 were transported; a shoulder injury and smoke inhalation. 3 others treated at scene.

UPDATE #2 Building is half up a dead end street.

Familiar with Allston; fire trucks are in CVS parking lot and another lot rear of 173 Brighton Ave. stay clear of area.

Stay away Brighton Ave to Linden St., Harvard Ave Cambridge St. to CommExpect grid lock on Cambridge St , Lincoln to Union Sq

Heavy fire and smoke still pushing at 7:21pm

8th and 9th alarm ordered.

UPDATE: Concern of collapse. Safety zones being established. Now a 7 alarm fire.
BREAKING NEWS....Boston, Massachusetts - The Boston Fire Department is battling a five alarm fire
located at 12-16 Harvard Terrace in Allston.

The fire is through the roof with rear porches gone of a three story brick apartment building. One firefighter was treated/transported for smoke inhalation.
